According to the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, inflammation of the middle ear (otitis media) ranks second only to the common cold as the most common health problem of preschool children. In fact, an estimated 5 million school days are missed each year, due to otitis media. Their recommendation for proper care and treatment involves finding a qualified physician, and an audiologist and speech-language pathologist for serious cases. Hospital Privileges: Drs. Sciacca and Davis have surgical privileges at Childrens’ Hospitals (downtown and Acton Rd.), Brookwood Medical Center, Shelby Baptist Medical Center and the Medplex Outpatient Surgery Center on their own campus.
