Using
Medications
Safely |
Labels:
The labels on medications are very
important, especially for understanding proper dosages and how often you
should take your medication. Make it a personal habit each time you
get a medication to read the label. This is especially true
of adults responsible for giving medications to children! |
Dosages:
Use the exact amount and
frequency ordered by your surgeon. If you are unsure or have questions,
be sure ot ask your pharmacist when you pick up your prescription. |
Children
and Prescription Drugs:
- Store all medications out of reach of
children!
- Do not measure liquid medication with a kitchen spoon. There are pediatric
measuring devices available at the pharmacy. Ask for one when you get
your prescription filled.
- Always watch your child take all their medication.
- Call the nearest hospital emergency room if your child takes too much
of any medicine.
